Hand tool skills are essential to building fine furniture. Working with hand tools can be a very precise, pleasurable and safe way to work. This course is ideal for beginner woodworkers and will cover the basics of hand planes, chisel use, hand saws, layout and marking and workbenches. Throughout the course you will be building your own hand tools including a straight edge, marking gauge and mallet as well as several exercises to help you build your skills and gauge your development. With lots of demonstrations and hands-on time, you will walk away from the class with several hand made tools and a new set of skills that will last a lifetime.
*Course fee include the cost of materials. Our classes are non-refundable but we can accommodate transfers.
