We can't say enough about the folks at the Ottawa Lee Valley location. If you're looking for any manner of tool to take your project to the next level, Lee Valley should be the first stop you make. They're an incredibly integral part of our local woodworking community, and we're extremely lucky to have one of their better locations in our city. 

Conveniently located just off the 417 at the Pinecrest/Greenbank exit, Lee Valley has the most impressive assortment of woodworking tools in Ottawa. Our chisels and handplanes come almost exclusively from there. Wether it's a block plane, a bench plane, or any manner of speciality plane, you'll find it there. Our members are encouraged to try out one of our Veritas hand planes to see the difference that quality makes over a box store model. 

One of the most compelling reasons to go to Lee Valley is the combined knowledge of their staff. Someone there is going to know how to get your project to completion. Picking the right tool for the job early on will ultimately save you a lot of time and money, even if initially the tool may be a bit pricier than a model from Lowe's or Home Depot. 

Lee Valley frequently runs some very competitive online sales too, with free shipping promotions or in store pick-up at their dedicated pickup centre.  They're also one of the few mailing lists well worth remaining on (KJP is another) given that they use their mail-outs infrequently but are always promoting a worthwhile sale when they do.
